Virtual Licensed Mental Health Clinician – Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCA)

About the Opportunity

Kairova Wellness is expanding our behavioral health services in North Carolina and is seeking experienced, compassionate North Carolina-licensed mental health clinicians to conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) and diagnostic evaluations virtually for children and adolescents.

This is an excellent opportunity for clinicians who enjoy assessments, diagnostic work, and helping families identify the appropriate level of behavioral health care—without carrying a traditional full therapy caseload.

This position is 100% virtual.

Who We're Looking For

Applicants must currently hold an ACTIVE North Carolina clinical license that allows them to provide behavioral health assessments and diagnostic services within their scope of practice.

We welcome qualified:

• LCSWs
• LCMHCs
• LMFTs
• Licensed Psychologists
• Other independently licensed North Carolina behavioral health professionals whose scope permits diagnostic assessments

North Carolina licensure must already be active.

Applicants who are only licensed in another state and are waiting for North Carolina licensure are not eligible to begin seeing clients until appropriate North Carolina practice authority has been issued.

What You'll Do

The clinician will primarily conduct virtual Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and diagnostic evaluations for Kairova Wellness clients.

Responsibilities may include:

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments through secure telehealth
• Interview children/adolescents and their parents or guardians
• Review presenting concerns, symptoms, behavioral history, developmental history, family/social history, trauma history, school functioning and previous treatment
• Complete mental status and risk/safety assessments
• Establish appropriate behavioral health diagnoses within your professional scope
• Determine medical necessity and clinical recommendations
• Identify appropriate levels of care and recommended services
• Complete required clinical documentation accurately and on time
• Develop or contribute to initial treatment recommendations
• Collaborate with Kairova's clinical and intake teams when additional services or referrals are needed
• Maintain documentation consistent with North Carolina Medicaid, payer, professional board and Kairova Wellness requirements

Ideal Candidate

We would love to work with someone who:

• Is comfortable working with children, adolescents and families
• Has strong assessment and diagnostic skills
• Can confidently conduct clinical interviews virtually
• Produces thorough, organized documentation
• Understands medical necessity and treatment recommendations
• Is familiar with Medicaid behavioral health documentation
• Can work independently while communicating well with a clinical team
• Is dependable and able to complete documentation promptly

Experience with North Carolina Medicaid, Alliance Health, Vaya Health or other NC Medicaid health plans is highly preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

Schedule

This position offers a flexible virtual schedule.

Clinicians may be able to select assessment availability based on their existing schedule. This opportunity may work well for clinicians seeking supplemental income, evening/weekend work, or assessment-focused work in addition to another position.

Requirements

• Active and unrestricted North Carolina clinical license
• License must permit the clinician to perform the assigned diagnostic/assessment services
• Master's or doctoral degree appropriate to professional discipline
• Experience conducting behavioral health assessments
• Ability to work independently through telehealth
• Strong clinical documentation skills
• Reliable internet connection and private HIPAA-appropriate workspace
• Ability to meet documentation and compliance deadlines
• Must successfully complete Kairova Wellness credentialing/onboarding requirements

Compensation

Competitive per-assessment compensation.

Compensation will be discussed based on licensure, experience, payer credentialing and assessment responsibilities.
