About the role
Position Overview
One Life Counseling Center is hiring a Trainee or Associate Therapist to provide community-based counseling services in partnership with Peninsula Bridge. In this role, you will work with elementary, middle, and high school-aged youth, delivering in-person counseling services on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00–8:00 PM. The start date would be September 29th.
This is a part-time position at 15 hours per week, including supervision. It is ideal for clinicians seeking strong supervision, meaningful community impact, and a supportive environment to build clinical skills and progress toward licensure. For those interested, there is also an opportunity to expand into private practice down the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, family, group, and collateral therapy as assigned
- Conduct intake assessments, risk assessments, safety planning, and respond to crises using One Life's crisis response protocols
- Consult with supervisors regarding high-risk situations and mandated reporting requirements
- Fulfill all mandated reporting responsibilities in compliance with California law
- Collaborate with onsite staff, administrators, community partners, and internal teams to support client care
- Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with ethical, legal, and clinical standards
- Monitor client progress using outcome measures and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
- Provide referrals and coordinate with external providers, community resources, and higher levels of care as needed
- Provide psychoeducation, parent consultation, and clinical case management
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and billing notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Participate in peer chart audits and collaborate with compliance staff to ensure documentation meets agency, legal, and payer requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and agency privacy policies
- Attend required supervision, mandatory clinical trainings, annual compliance updates, and team meetings
- Demonstrate cultural humility and a commitment to inclusive, high-quality care
Qualifications
Trainees
- Bachelor's degree required
- Currently enrolled in a Master's program leading to licensure (MFT, PCC, or related field)
Associates
- Master's degree completed
- Registered Associate (AMFT, APCC, or ASW) in good standing with the California BBS
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Experience working with diverse or community-based populations
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
