About the role
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and be dedicated to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role requires expertise in various therapeutic techniques, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy, as well as experience working with diverse populations, including children and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for clients of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Utilize evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis management techniques.
- Provide child and family counseling, addressing specific needs related to child development and family dynamics.
- Engage in case management activities, ensuring clients receive necessary support services.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ICD coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Facilitate crisis intervention strategies for clients experiencing acute distress or emergencies.
- Implement behavioral management techniques for clients with autism or other developmental disabilities.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance therapeutic practices within the organization.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
- Valid licensure as a therapist or counselor in the state of practice is preferred.
- Experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, and direct patient care is essential.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities including art therapy, psychodynamic therapy, dance therapy, and grief counseling is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work effectively with children and families; experience in pediatrics is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and clinical documentation practices is required.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health issues including PTSD care, addiction counseling, chronic pain counseling, and geriatric care is beneficial.
- Ability to provide telehealth services as needed; prior telehealth experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
