Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Texas LPC-A, LMFT-A associate online counselor to join our small mental health team. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity for emerging counselors to gain hands-on experience, develop clinical skills, and work toward licensure for both the LPC and LMFT. The role involves providing individual counseling sessions, participating in supervision, and engaging in professional growth activities within a supportive environment.
Supervision is provided by Jay Rhodes, LMFT-S, LPC-S, LMHC-S, and LCMFT (TX/OK, TX/OK, FL, MD).
Responsibilities
- Conduct and manage a caseload of at least counseling appointments per week, providing quality mental health services to diverse clients with the goal of 24+ (Note: Texas rules limit MFT interns to 750 online direct client hours, so this would be best for an LMFTA candidate for either 1) their first of supervision, 2) final year of supervision, or 3) an LMFT-A with access to in-person counseling. LPCAs currently have no such legal limits.
- Participate actively in free supervision sessions, including individual hours and group supervision, to meet licensure requirements and enhance clinical skills.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions in compliance with licensing standards, insurance, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive client care and contribute to a positive therapeutic environment.
- Utilize high-speed online access and reliable computer equipment to facilitate telehealth services and administrative tasks effectively.
- Support marketing efforts (with more than 5 appointments, a Psychology Today profile is provided free, as well as, progressively more aggressive marketing initiatives, to grow your practice.
Requirements
- Must have a qualifying master’s degree in counseling, therapy, or a related mental health field.
- Must have a passing score on the National Licensure Exam (LMFT) or the National Counselor Exam (LPC).
- Currently hold or be eligible for Texas LMFT-A and/or LPC-A licensure status.
- Reliable high-speed internet access and a dependable computer are essential for telehealth services and administrative functions.
- Strong commitment to client confidentiality, ethical practice, and professional growth within the mental health field.
- Must be able to attend online supervision.
This position offers free individual and group supervision (LPC and LMFT) while supporting your journey toward independent practice with more than 5 paid hours each week, as well as, free insurance credentialing, EHR records, scheduling, telehealth, reminders, secure messaging, AI notes, treatment plans, assessments, insurance verification, claims, payments, client referrals, and CEUs (all free with more than 5 appts).

CPT Code 90834: 38+ minutes of psychotherapy = $60 (insurance)
CPT Code 90837: 53+ minutes of psychotherapy = $75 (insurance)
CPT Code 90839: 73+ minutes for crisis = $105 (insurance)
