About the role

Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teen Therapist with licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate teens’ mental health status, developmental history, and social functioning.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy tailored to adolescent needs.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions focused on issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, addiction, autism spectrum disorders, and other behavioral health concerns.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at social skills development, peer support, and psychoeducation for adolescents.
  • Engage in family counseling to strengthen communication and support systems within the teen’s environment.
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies promptly and effectively during acute mental health episodes or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, psychiatrists, educators, and community providers to coordinate care plans.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster motivation for change and enhance treatment engagement.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives related to adolescent mental health and behavioral interventions.
  • Collect data for quality improvement projects and contribute to ongoing research efforts in pediatric and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Stay current with developments in psychopharmacology, special education strategies, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Experience

  • Valid licensure as an LCSW or LMHC with experience working directly with children and adolescents in clinical settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management.
  • Hands-on experience conducting intake assessments, patient care planning, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9).
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations including youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, and complex behavioral health needs.
  • Experience delivering services within hospital settings or community-based programs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation of medical records, treatment notes, CPT coding practices, and medical terminology is essential.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient confidentiality and medical documentation standards.
  • Strong skills in case management, group facilitation, social work practices, and crisis intervention techniques tailored for adolescents.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines while maintaining a compassionate approach that respects cultural diversity and individual differences.
