What You'll Do
As a School-Based Mental Health Clinician, you'll provide compassionate, trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral health services that improve the lives of students and families.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide individual, family, and group counseling in school-based and telehealth settings.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, screenings, and treatment planning.
- Complete risk assessments, suicide assessments, crisis intervention, and safety planning when clinically indicated.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address students' emotional, behavioral, social, and academic needs.
- Facilitate evidence-based therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
- Provide counseling using evidence-based practices such as CBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, IFS, DBT-informed interventions, and other clinically appropriate approaches.
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, families, physicians, and community providers to coordinate care.
- Provide consultation, education, and behavioral health support to school personnel and caregivers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and school-based planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Utilize HIPAA-compliant electronic health record documentation.
- Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, and team meetings.
QualificationsRequired
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current Delaware Associate or Full License, including:
- LACMH
- LPCMH
- LMSW
- LCSW
- Or another qualifying Delaware behavioral health license.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or families.
- Strong clinical assessment, counseling, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary school teams.
- Reliable transportation to assigned school locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain:
- Delaware Criminal Background Check
- Delaware Child Protection Registry Clearance
Preferred
- School-based mental health experience
- Telehealth counseling experience
- Knowledge of MTSS, trauma-informed care, and behavioral interventions
- Experience with case management and community collaboration
