Psychotherapist

JOB SUMMARY

The Psychotherapist is a principal member of the Clinical Team who provides specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning to individuals ranging in age from five to late adulthood. Provide psychotherapy sessions for individuals, groups, and/or families.

The Psychotherapist reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor, with general oversight by the Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with each client. Provides individual, group or family therapy as needed.
• Available for clinical consultation
• Maintains ongoing frequent contact with other assigned professionals, parents or outside agency professionals assigned to case.
• Provide case management (CPST or TBS), if needed
• Assume a strong advocacy role for clients and makes recommendations for clinical and support services needed upon discharge
• Actively participates in all treatment conferences and meetings for the clients
• Complete all paperwork required by the agency within designated time frames
• Provides education and resources for patients and family members
• May clinically supervise an intern or clinically supervise Qualified Mental Health Specialist as needed
• Participates in continuing professional education, departmental meetings and teaching
• Required one to two hours of unpaid supervision and/or clinical team meeting
• Maintain supervision log for supervisee and/or POD members as required by the agency, and state licensure requirements
• Continued education to meet licensure requirements
• Must perform all duties within their scope of practice and be prepared to be used with in that scope
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

• Minimum educational level is a Bachelor’s degree in Social work with an Ohio LSW
• A Master’s degree, clinical experience LPC, MFT, LISW or LPCC or IMFT is preferred
• Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License and Insurance
