Duties

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Deliver a variety of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, and behavioral therapy tailored to client needs.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices, including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, coordinate care plans, and maintain accurate medical records using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.
• Provide specialized counseling for clients with co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, addiction issues, gender identity concerns, or chronic pain.
• Support clients’ progress by conducting mental health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing patient care evaluations in compliance with clinical ethical guidelines and medical terminology standards.

Experience

• Proven experience working with children, youth, and families in clinical or outpatient settings; pediatric experience is highly valued.
• Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavioral health interventions, and social work practices.
• Prior telehealth experience is preferred to facilitate remote patient care effectively.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medical documentation standards, CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical research methodologies.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities—including developmental disabilities—and managing complex cases involving co-occurring disorders or chronic pain conditions.
• Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient mental health services along with skills in crisis intervention and crisis management strategies.
• Ability to utilize EMR/EHR systems proficiently for documentation, data collection, treatment planning, and medical records management.
