Position Overview

Enara Family Counseling P.C. is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and culturally responsive Psychotherapist Associate (AMFT or APCC) to join our multidisciplinary clinical team in El Cajon, California.

Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the Psychotherapist Associate will provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy to clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. This position offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen clinical skills, receive ongoing supervision, and gain experience in a supportive, multicultural behavioral health setting while working toward independent licensure.

Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy under clinical supervision.
• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
• Develop individualized, measurable, and culturally responsive treatment plans.
• Apply evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and other clinically appropriate modalities.
• Complete accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, payer, and organizational requirements.
• Participate in required individual and group clinical supervision.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychotherapists, case managers, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Provide crisis assessment, intervention, safety planning, and appropriate referrals when clinically indicated.
• Connect clients with appropriate community resources and healthcare providers.
• Attend staff meetings, clinical trainings, and professional-development activities.
• Maintain compliance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements, professional ethical standards, and Enara policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, or another qualifying behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution.
• Current and active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an:
• Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT); or
• Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC).
• Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment practices.
• Strong clinical assessment, treatment-planning, and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide respectful and effective services to culturally diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and professional communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in community mental health or an outpatient behavioral health setting.
• Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or other culturally diverse communities.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems.

Language Requirements

• Professional fluency in English and Arabic is required.
• Fluency in Farsi, Dari, or Pashto is strongly preferred.

Compensation

The hourly pay range is $32.00–$40.00, depending on education, relevant clinical experience, language proficiency, specialized training, and other job-related qualifications.
