About the role

Acacia: A Place for Personal & Family Development is seeking fully licensed clinical social workers interested in flexible, part-time outpatient psychotherapy work. We currently have multiple openings and can develop caseloads around each clinician’s experience, interests, and availability.

This position offers the flexibility of private practice with W-2 employment, consistent referrals, administrative support, furnished office space, clinical consultation, and a collaborative group-practice environment.

About Acacia

Acacia is an established Kalamazoo group practice providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our clinical approach is informed by psychodynamic theory, attachment, trauma, relational practice, interpersonal neurobiology, developmental science, and culturally responsive care.

Clinicians are encouraged to develop their own specialties and clinical voice while remaining part of a reflective and supportive professional community.

Compensation

  • $60 for completed 53-minute psychotherapy sessions
  • $50–$52 for completed 38–52-minute psychotherapy sessions
  • $70 for diagnostic intake appointments
  • $30 per hour for required meetings, training, and other approved administrative work
  • Clinician payment according to pay schedule when an applicable late-cancellation fee is collected
  • Additional compensation may be available based on specialty, experience, or caseload
  • Regular opportunities to transition into a salaried full-time position

Primary responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, or group psychotherapy within the clinician’s areas of competency
  • Complete diagnostic assessments and collaborative treatment planning
  • Maintain timely and clinically appropriate documentation
  • Coordinate care with other professionals when appropriate and authorized
  • Participate in required consultation and practice meetings
  • Maintain a consistent weekly schedule that supports continuity of care

Required qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program
  • Active and unrestricted Michigan LMSW with Clinical designation
  • Qualified to practice psychotherapy independently in Michigan
  • Outpatient psychotherapy experience
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to practice independently while participating in a collaborative clinical community

Experience with children, adolescents, families, trauma, attachment, play therapy, LGBTQ+ clients, EMDR, IFS, couples, or psychodynamic psychotherapy is particularly welcome.
