Private Practice Associate Therapist (AMFT, APCC, ASW)

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify needs and develop personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches such as behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, and trauma-specific interventions.
• Provide individual, group, couples, and family counseling sessions focused on child & youth therapy, marriage & family therapy, and behavioral health issues.
• Implement treatment strategies grounded in applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles when appropriate for clients with developmental or behavioral needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and ensure continuity of care for clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Conduct patient care activities such as patient assessment, diagnosis, progress evaluation, and adjustment of treatment plans as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and best practices in mental health counseling.

Experience

• Current enrollment or licensure as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Social Worker (ASW).
• Prior experience or training in behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, child & family counseling, or trauma-specific interventions is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical documentation standards, medical terminology, and electronic health records systems.
• Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and diagnostic evaluation procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds in a compassionate manner.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across age groups and presenting complex concepts clearly.
• Commitment to ethical standards such as HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality throughout all patient interactions.
