Outpatient Psychotherapist

Position Summary

The Outpatient Psychotherapist provides individual, family, and/or group therapy services to clients in an outpatient setting. This role focuses on assessing mental health needs, developing treatment plans, delivering evidence-based interventions, and supporting clients in achieving emotional, behavioral, and psychological wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives
• Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, solution-focused, trauma-informed care, etc.)
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and payer requirements
• Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when necessary
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, schools, and other community supports
• Participate in case staffing, supervision, and team meetings
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and licensing regulations
• Provide referrals to community resources when appropriate

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
• Active licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or license-eligible) preferred
• Experience providing outpatient mental health therapy preferred
• Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnosis and treatment planning
• Strong clinical assessment and crisis management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Work Environment

• Outpatient clinic setting
• May include in-person and telehealth sessions
• Flexible scheduling, including evenings as needed

Reports To: Clinical Director /CEO

Pay: $35.00 - $80.00 per hour
