Position Description:

A currently expanding private mental health practice is hiring qualified and experienced therapists and counselors. The outpatient therapist provides compassionate, ethical, and competent care to individuals, families, and/or groups who are experiencing varying levels of distress with life situations and/or mental health concerns. The outpatient therapist will conduct sessions both in-person and via telehealth, with all services originating from the office location.

Education and Experience:

• A masters or doctoral degree in a mental health-related field (MSW or MA).
• Independently licensed in the State of Michigan (supervision available for experienced limited license practitioners in social work and counseling - LMSW, LPC).
• Previous experience working within a clinical setting is required.
• Previous experience working with diverse populations and multicultural communities is preferred.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and ongoing professional development is required.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Provide high quality, compassionate, and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients.
• Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of date of service.
• Communicate directly with clients to set appointments and create individual work schedules.
• Communicate schedule effectively with staff via shared calendar and update as needed.
• Maintain work hours that are responsive to client needs; evening and/or weekend hours are expected.
• Maintain professional “good standing” with licensing and insurance entities.
• Actively pursue professional growth and competence opportunities.
• Fully complete all mandated continuing education requirements within required time frames.
• Stay current with updated research and best practices in the fields of social work and therapy.
• Stay abreast of community resources and make referrals when appropriate.
• Protect client information per HIPAA standards and company protocol.
• Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security/Disability forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and seeking professional consultation when necessary).
• Adhere to State laws and NASW Code of Ethics.
• Actively participate and maintain positivity as a team member of the clinic environment, including everyday maintenance of office facilities and equipment.

Pay scale and benefits:

• Clinical staff earn 50% to 62.5% split share of collected payment for services dependent on the number of client sessions averaged weekly. Up to 62.5% split share is attainable for fully licensed therapists after 6 months of full-time employment / credentialing.
• Earned APL (All Purpose Leave) is available for full-time therapists and is accrued on a monthly basis.
• Health benefits (health, vision, and dental insurance) are available 30 days after the start of employment if minimum work hours are met. Health benefits are at employee cost after an average of 20 hours worked per week and by employer contribution offered after an average of 28 hours worked per week.
• Continuing education allowance available to full time employees.
• Internal training and collaborations are offered on a regular basis, including DEI workshops, case consultation, and a therapist-led burnout prevention group.
• In-house full service billing team that verifies insurance, communicates with all insurance companies, and files claims.
• Credentialing completed in-house by administrative staff.
• Professional liability insurance is included.
• Licensure supervision is included for limited licensed therapists.
• All therapists are W-2 employees. W-2 employees have payroll taxes withheld from each paycheck, and TC pays a share of Medicare and Social Security taxes. A W-2 employee receives a W-2 tax form at the end of each year. Many other posted therapy positions are 1099 employees, where taxes are not withheld and are all due at years’ end, and the employer does not pay toward any of the taxes. The 1099 employee is often called an independent contractor or freelancer.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
