Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery: Delivers quality, professional social work services to individuals in ARCA NeuRoads programs, their families and related community agencies.
  • Clinical Social Work with Patient/Clients: Provides social services with patient/clients, including: trauma informed counseling on social-emotional issues, substance abuse, teaching interpersonal skills and advocating for human rights. Provides Positive Behavioral Support Plans and Crisis Intervention Plans. Conducts and documents a supervisory visit to the patient/client residences. Participates in monthly Treatment Team meetings.
  • Clinical Social Work Services in Groups: Provides social services with groups, including: training patient/clients receiving services and staff on issues of dignity, respect and human rights, meeting with families to resolve issues related to patient/client eligibility and program requirements. Lead Group and Family Therapy sessions as therapeutic need arises.
  • Clinical Social Work Services to other Agencies: Provides social services with community agencies, including: facilitating education, coordination and communication with ARCA NeuRoads and related community programs.
  • Customized Community Support Services: Supervision of Professional and Paraprofessional staff. Provides clinical supervision for treatment outcomes. Ensures regulatory compliance of this program.
  • Treatment Planning: Provides Trauma informed Treatment planning for all participants. Provides initial assessments and works with the Treatment Team to establish behavioral health goals.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provides Clinical Supervision for treatment teams, interns and other behavioral specialists.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provides crisis intervention for participants. This may be required off hours and on weekends. Trains staff in applicable crisis intervention plans.
  • Assessments: Conducts a comprehensive assessment to access the patient/client skill level across several categories, which allows the team to develop a personalized treatment plan. Evaluates and coordinates the patient/client’s plan of care on a continuing basis. Informs personnel of changes in the patient/client’s condition and needs.
  • Makes regular face-to-face contact with patient/clients receiving services and may provide direct service and transportation for patient/clients when necessary.
  • Performs an evaluation visit and follow-up visits as needed.
  • Informs the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient/client’s condition and needs.
  • Performs assessments of baseline functioning of NeuRoads client to determine Comprehensive Community Support Services CCSS required for functional engagement. Oversee CCSS plans and supervise CCSS Workers.
  • Documentation: Completes required documentation needed to continue patient/client services. Submits and maintains information in the confidential file of patient/clients receiving services.
  • Writes Behavior Support plans and monthly/quarterly reports for each patient/client receiving services.
  • Collects, records and summarizes data on observable client behavior.
  • Writes Social Histories and updates, Discharge Summaries and monthly reports for each patient/client receiving services.
  • Completes and corrects case records before Case Record Review to ensure client administrative files are complete and correct.
  • Prepares clinical notes.
  • Prepares Supervisory Clinical Documentation.
  • IDT: Acts as Interdisciplinary Team Member for all patient/clients receiving services on caseload and oversees financial benefits and medical status of those patient/clients.
  • Works in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team and
  • Acts as ARCA representative and advocate for patient/clients receiving services and is the main liaison between the organization and the patient/clients’ families and/or guardian.
  • Works as part of a team and performs all duties within the scope of the guidelines of the interdisciplinary team process.
  • Provides team leadership for individual homes.
  • Participates in meetings with other community professionals.
  • Provides input on team issues and feedback on team processes.
  • Attends Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), ISP meetings, staff meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Collaborates with treatment team, including: client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, NeuRoads Behavioral Technician, Social Worker Interns and co-workers.
  • Teamwork/Meetings and Trainings: Attends weekly rehabilitation meetings and trainings.
  • Communication: Creates and maintains positive relationships between individuals, families/guardians, nurses, and IDT members.
  • Establishes and fosters community relationships which lead to meaningful community employment and memberships.
  • Responds to calls and emails on a frequent basis.
  • Health/Safety: Ensures and maintains a safe environment for individuals served at all times through regular visits to homes and investigation of safety concerns.
  • Abides by ARCA’s safety policies and report any safety concerns to supervisor and Risk and Safety Compliance Manager immediately.
  • Ensures direct support staff update and maintain home safety and policy manuals.
  • Transportation: May provide transportation to one or more individuals in an agency vehicle or private vehicle and abide by ARCA rules on transportation.
  • Work Assignments: Complete work assignments in an accurate, effective and timely manner.
  • Training: Completes required orientation training and on-going in-service training in accordance with ARCA policy on training.
  • Attends training as available to enhance skills.
  • Assists with the effective orientation training of new staff and substitute employees.
  • Coordinates and schedules yearly and as needed individual specific training for assigned caseload.
  • Assists with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Trains para-professionals on implemented behavior plans for patient/clients on their caseload.
  • Committee Participation: Actively participates in agency committees, teams and task forces as assigned.
  • Abuse/Neglect/Emergency Situations: Treats individuals served with dignity and respect at all times. As required by law, reports all suspected instances of abuse, neglect, exploitation, environmental hazard, suspicious injury and/or injury of unknown origin to the appropriate authorities in accordance with ARCA policies and procedures.
