MFT or LPC Trainee (Practicum Student)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated MFT or LPC Trainee (Practicum Student) to join our mental health and behavioral health team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through evidence-based therapies and comprehensive case management within a supportive and faith-based environment dedicated to client well-being and recovery. Applicants must feel comfortable in providing integration of faith in therapy as deemed appropriate by the client. Clinical Supervision for BBS licensure is provided. $300/quarter stipend

Responsibilities

• Assist with intake assessments and patient evaluations, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems
• Support individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral management, and applied behavior analysis
• Participate in crisis intervention and crisis management activities to ensure client safety and well-being
• Collect and document medical records, clinical notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Conduct behavioral health assessments for patients with PTSD, autism, developmental disabilities, or other mental health conditions
• Assist in providing specialized counseling such as child & family counseling
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions while adhering to confidentiality standards and medical documentation protocols

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program in marriage and family therapy (MFT), licensed professional counselor (LPC), social work, or related field
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and crisis intervention
• Ability to handle sensitive situations involving mental health crises with professionalism and compassion
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience maintaining confidential medical documentation is required
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
