Licensed Mental Health Clinician – Independent Contractor (1099)

Inspiring Counseling, LLC is a growing, client-centered private mental health practice seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and motivated Licensed Mental Health Clinician to join our team as an Independent Contractor (1099).

We are currently seeking a clinician interested in maintaining a caseload of 15+ clients per week. The ideal candidate will be open to providing hybrid services, including both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. Office space is currently available for clinician use at our Oxford office on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Compensation

Compensation is paid per client contact and varies based on factors including licensure, credentials, insurance reimbursement, and type of client contact. This is a 1099 independent contractor position.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs, strengths, and treatment goals.
• Provide individual and/or couples therapy using appropriate evidence-based and clinically appropriate interventions.
• Utilize therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and other modalities consistent with the clinician’s training and scope of practice.
• Implement appropriate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to support client safety when necessary.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation and behavioral health records in accordance with HIPAA, ethical, legal, and professional standards.
• Provide telehealth services while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate data security.
• Collaborate with other providers, community resources, and support systems to promote holistic and coordinated care.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and assist them in accessing appropriate resources and supports.
• Provide encouragement, education, and therapeutic tools to support clients in building confidence, coping skills, and emotional well-being.
• Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional boundaries while fostering a therapeutic environment built on trust and respect.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure or associate-level license, as applicable, such as LMSW, LCSW, APC, LPC, or equivalent credential, in the state of practice.
• Ability to independently practice within the scope permitted by licensure and applicable state regulations.
• Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as addiction counseling, trauma treatment, couples therapy, or other specialized modalities are a plus.
• Professional liability insurance required (assistance and guidance with obtaining coverage is available).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
