Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health-Substance Abuse Group Facilitator (Licensed Substance Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor) to join our Cherry Hill, NJ team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by leading group therapy sessions and supporting clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Responsibilities

• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions focused on mental health and substance abuse recovery, utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with DSM-5 diagnostic standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including intake, case management, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
• Provide crisis intervention and crisis management when necessary, ensuring client safety and stability during challenging situations.
• Deliver psychoeducation on topics such as addiction medicine, PTSD care, behavioral health, and co-occurring disorders to clients and their families.
• Engage in ongoing research and data collection to evaluate treatment effectiveness and improve clinical outcomes.

Experience

• Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in clinical or community settings.
• Strong background in psychotherapy modalities including behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical documentation standards, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and electronic health records management.
• Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, client assessment in therapy, and case management practices.
• Experience working with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds is highly valued.
• Knowledge of mental health diagnostic evaluation tools such as DSM-5 is essential for accurate client assessment.
• Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, maintaining patient confidentiality, and working within medical records protocols is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field
• 3 - 5 years substance abuse or related work experience
• LCSW, LPC Required
• Knowledge of State and Federal statues regarding patient confidentiality laws (HIPAA)
