Position Overview

Henderson Mental Health is an established and growing outpatient mental health practice serving Henderson, Las Vegas, and surrounding communities. We are seeking a Nevada licensed Mental Health Counselor Intern (CPC-I) or Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFT-I) to join our clinical team.

This position is not a student internship. Nevada interns are licensed providers, and this role reflects that level of responsibility and professionalism. Clinicians in this position maintain an active caseload, receive on-site clinical supervision, and work within a collaborative and supportive model of care alongside experienced therapists and medication management providers.

We offer flexible scheduling, remote telehealth services from home, and in-office sessions at our Southwest location. Our practice emphasizes professional development, ethical care, and work life balance while supporting clinicians as they progress toward full licensure.

Required Licensure

Applicants must hold an active Nevada intern license in one of the following credentials:

  • Clinical Professional Counselor Intern (CPC-I)
  • Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (MFT-I)

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults
  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, psychodynamic approaches, and motivational interviewing
  • Assess and respond to crisis situations in a clinically appropriate and ethical manner
  • Collaborate with medication management providers and other mental health professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, Nevada regulations, and payer requirements
  • Complete progress notes, treatment plans, and clinical assessments using appropriate diagnostic terminology
  • Participate in regular on-site supervision and clinical consultation
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and case discussion to support high quality patient care

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Active Nevada CPC-I or MFT-I license is required
  • MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING WITH ADOLESCENTS AND TEENS
  • Strong clinical foundation in psychotherapy and mental health assessment
  • Experience or interest in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions
  • Comfort and competence providing services via telehealth platforms
  • Strong communication skills and sound clinical judgment
  • Commitment to ethical practice and continued professional growth
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or families is preferred but not required
