Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.

The clinician will provide individual, family, and group therapy and will play an active role in the delivery and oversight of our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This includes facilitating structured IOP groups, supporting program development, monitoring participant progress, coordinating care, and helping ensure that services are delivered consistently with clinical, ethical, documentation, and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify clinical needs, functional impairments, strengths, risks, and appropriate levels of care.
• Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans using evidence-based and developmentally appropriate interventions.
• Provide individual, group, family, and child or adolescent therapy using approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, behavioral interventions, psychodynamic therapy, expressive therapies, and other clinically appropriate modalities.
• Facilitate structured Intensive Outpatient Program groups focused on areas such as emotional regulation, coping skills, relapse prevention, trauma recovery, interpersonal effectiveness, symptom management, psychoeducation, and recovery support.
• Provide clinical oversight and coordination for the IOP Program, including reviewing participant needs, monitoring attendance and engagement, evaluating progress toward treatment goals, and supporting appropriate admission, continued-stay, transition, and discharge planning.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of IOP group curricula, program schedules, clinical workflows, and quality-improvement activities.
• Coordinate with therapists, case managers, peer support professionals, medical providers, families, schools, community agencies, and other members of the treatment team to support continuity of care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary staffing, case consultation, utilization review, and clinical meetings related to IOP and outpatient services.
• Provide crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and safety planning during acute behavioral health episodes or emergencies.
• Identify when a participant may require a higher or lower level of care and coordinate referrals or transitions as clinically appropriate.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, group notes, care coordination activities, risk assessments, and discharge summaries accurately and within required timelines.
• Maintain clinical documentation in Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Record systems in accordance with organizational standards, HIPAA requirements, professional ethics, and applicable payer regulations.
• Use appropriate ICD-10 and CPT coding practices for diagnosis, service documentation, and billing support within the clinician’s scope and organizational policies.
• Provide telehealth therapy and IOP services when appropriate to expand access to care.
• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable federal, state, licensing, and organizational requirements.
• Participate in supervision, training, professional development, and program evaluation activities.

Requirements

• Current and valid licensure in Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate/Licensed Associate Counselor, with the ability to practice independently or under approved supervision as applicable.
• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
• Experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, or families.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic, psychoeducational, or skills-based groups.
• Experience with Intensive Outpatient Program services, group programming, program coordination, or clinical oversight is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, behavioral therapy, grief counseling, substance-use treatment, or related approaches.
• Ability to assess and respond effectively to crisis situations, safety concerns, and changes in clinical presentation.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnostic coding, CPT coding, medical terminology, treatment planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Experience using EMR/EHR systems and maintaining accurate, timely, and legally sound clinical records.
• Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to provide clinical guidance, coordinate services, and support consistency and accountability within the IOP Program.
• Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, co-occurring mental health and substance-use conditions, or complex psychosocial needs is preferred.
• Telehealth experience is preferred.
• Ability to maintain all required credentials, continuing education, background checks, and professional liability coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience leading or overseeing an Intensive Outpatient Program.
• Experience developing group curricula, program policies, or clinical workflows.
• Experience with utilization review, medical-necessity documentation, quality assurance, or payer authorization processes.
• Training in trauma-focused treatment, substance-use treatment, crisis intervention, or group psychotherapy.
• Experience supervising staff, interns, candidates, peer support professionals, or other members of a multidisciplinary team, when permitted by licensure and organizational policy.

Compensation for IOP groups will be a flat rate discussed at the interview.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
