We are seeking a dedicated LPC or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor-Substance Abuse (LCDC-S) to join our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health and addiction counseling services to individuals and families, fostering recovery and resilience. Your expertise will help clients navigate their treatment journeys through evidence-based therapies, crisis intervention, and personalized case management. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs.
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
- Develop tailored treatment plans aligned with clinical best practices and regulatory standards, including HIPAA compliance for medical documentation and records.
- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety during acute episodes or behavioral emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate home and community care plans, ensuring continuity of care across settings.
- Maintain accurate medical records, document progress notes, and utilize ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for diagnosis classification in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection efforts to improve treatment outcomes and contribute to behavioral health knowledge bases.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as an LCDC-S or equivalent credential with certification in addiction counseling.
- Proven experience in mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, or behavioral health settings, including hospital or community-based programs.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, PTSD care, and addiction medicine.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), HIPAA regulations, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations, case management, intake assessments, and patient care planning.
- Skills in group therapy facilitation, applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and social work principles.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity.
