LPC

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is responsible for providing high-quality clinical services, including comprehensive psychological assessments, psychotherapy, and the development of individualized treatment plans within an outpatient behavioral health setting. The LPC serves as a clinical lead, conducting face-to-face diagnostic interviews and supervising non-licensed clinical staff (such as QMHP and CSSP) to ensure all services meet agency and ethical standards.

Clinical Assessment: Gather and analyze data to conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for new and existing clients. This includes performing face-to-face interviews with the recipient and their family or legal authorized representatives (LAR).

Treatment Planning: Act as the team leader for the service planning team to develop, sign, and date Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP). Ensure that goals, objectives, and interventions are consistent with the identified therapeutic needs of the client.

Psychotherapy Services: Provide evidence-based psychotherapy services to address a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjustment disorders.

Clinical Supervision: Directly supervise non-licensed clinical employees, including planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as appraising performance and resolving clinical problems.

Active Recipient Involvement: Facilitate active recipient and family involvement in the therapeutic process and provide aggressive outreach if participation levels decline.

Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, health care personnel, and school staff to ensure continuity of care and to further the understanding of social and emotional factors impacting the client’s mental health.

Documentation: Maintain meticulous and ethical clinical documentation, including progress notes (using BIRP or other required formats), assessment summaries, and treatment plan updates.

Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations, agency policies, and state-mandated guidelines.
