Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide evidence-based mental health and behavioral care to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will support individuals with developmental disabilities, co-occurring disorders, neurodevelopmental conditions, and mental health challenges. As an LPC-A, you will work under clinical supervision to deliver comprehensive assessments, individual and group therapy sessions, crisis intervention, and case management services. Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health status and develop personalized treatment plans
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Implement motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, ensuring holistic support for clients with complex needs
- Document clinical notes, progress reports, and treatment outcomes accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Provide family counseling and support to enhance client outcomes through effective communication with families and caregivers
Requirements
- Valid licensure as an LPC-A or equivalent in the state of practice
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with mental health conditions and developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in clinical counseling techniques including CBT, behavioral therapy, and psychotherapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards
- Strong skills in crisis management, crisis intervention, and case management strategies
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders such as substance use disorders alongside mental health conditions
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for patient care documentation and medical records management
- Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds and populations from various socioeconomic settings
- Supervising experience or clinical supervision training is preferred for leadership development opportunities
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement, patient assessment, and collaboration within clinical teams
