We are a supportive and growing private group mental health practice seeking a compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing psychotherapy services.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-informed, and person-centered approaches.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Facilitate specialized counseling services including trauma, grief, addiction, identity-related concerns, and complex clinical presentations.
- Maintain timely documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and insurance standards.
- Collaborate with other providers and coordinate client care as needed.
- Provide telehealth therapy sessions while maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Maintain a caseload of 10+ client sessions per week while providing high-quality clinical care and documentation.
- Provide clinical supervision to MHC-LP clinicians through case review, treatment planning guidance, intervention support, and ongoing professional development mentorship.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
Skills
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, HIPAA, and clinical documentation
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and case coordination skills
- Ability to monitor client progress and adapt treatment approaches as needed
Requirements
Active NYS Licensure
To qualify, applicants must maintain an active, unrestricted New York State license in one of the following disciplines:
- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
- LMHC-D (Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Diagnostic Privilege)
- LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor)
Compliance & Technical Skills
- Mandated Reporter Training: Must provide a certificate of completion for the NYS Child Abuse Identification and Reporting training.
- Note: Complete the updated training curriculum by November 17, 2026. The New York State Mandated Reporter Resource Center offers free training.
- Provider Identifiers: Active NPI number and CAQH profile (or willingness to create one).
- We strongly prefer candidates with proficiency in SimplePractice and Headway.
- Remote Standards: Access to a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace and secure technology.
NYS Compliance & Privacy
- Remote Standards: Supervisors must use secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms for all remote supervision in compliance with New York State requirements.
- Security: Supervisors must ensure their remote environment meets all state privacy and security standards for discussing PHI (Protected Health Information).
Pay: $70.00 - $110.00 per hour
