Job Summary:
The Licensed Therapist is responsible for leading and overseeing all clinical operations within a behavioral health facility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals with mental health and/or development disorders. This role provides strategic direction, clinical supervision, and operational guidance to multidisciplinary teams, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Reporting to the Site Administrator and Corporate Clinical Director, the Licensed Therapist will be responsible for clinical supervision of the Qualified Behavioral Health Providers to include hiring, training and competency review.
The Clinical Director collaborates with executive leadership to develop and enhance treatment programs, improve patient outcomes, and support organizational goals. Again,this position also ensures that clinical staff are properly trained, supported, and held accountable to best practices, ethical standards, and performance expectations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee all clinical operations and ensure delivery of high-quality behavioral health services
- Provide leadership, supervision, and support to Qualified Behavioral Health Providers.
- Develop, implement, and monitor treatment programs and clinical protocols
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CARF)
- Review and approve treatment plans, assessments, and clinical documentation
- Manage risk, including crisis intervention and incident review
- Collaborate with medical staff, administration, and external partners
- Lead staff training, performance evaluations, and professional development
- Monitor program outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with budgeting, staffing plans, and resource allocation
- Participate in strategic planning and program development

Education Required for this Job:
- Advanced degree in mental health studies including social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy.

Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Active state licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, Psychologist)
- 5–10+ years of clinical experience in behavioral health
- 2–5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience in a behavioral health facility (inpatient, outpatient, or residential)
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
- Familiarity with accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CARF or CQL preferred)
- CPR/First Aid certification (often required)
Preferred Qualifications (optional but common)
- Experience in program development or expansion
- Background in substance use treatment or co-occurring disorders
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Advanced certifications or specialty training
