Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes and manage complex cases involving co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and ethical guidelines, ensuring accurate medical documentation and progress notes in EMR/EHR systems.
- Facilitate intake assessments for new clients, coordinating care plans that incorporate social work principles, case management, and client communication.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to provide remote therapy sessions while maintaining high-quality patient care and confidentiality.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance treatment outcomes and support evidence-based practice initiatives.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Therapist (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) with current certification to practice independently.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience with pediatrics or geriatrics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, or applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with medical terminology and records management is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis management skills and trauma-focused interventions.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, treatment planning software, EMR/EHR systems, and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
