Position Summary: Incura Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Licensed Behavioral Health / Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our clinical team. This position provides counseling, treatment planning, case coordination, and other clinical services to adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health needs under the supervision of our Clinical Director a LPC-S.

We welcome qualified applicants holding credentials such as LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LAC, LADAC, LAADAC, or other applicable Arkansas behavioral health credentials, provided the individual is legally authorized to perform the duties of the position within the scope of their license and supervision requirements. At minimum the applicant must have a valid LMSW, LAC, ADC of an AADC

The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, comfortable working with individuals affected by substance use disorders, and committed to providing ethical, person-centered, evidence-based care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling as appropriate to the clinician’s license, credentials, and assigned program.
• Complete biopsychosocial assessments and other clinical assessments as assigned.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on identified needs, strengths, risks, goals, and appropriate level of care.
• Complete treatment plan reviews and updates within required timeframes.
• Provide therapeutic interventions addressing substance use disorders, relapse prevention, coping skills, behavioral health concerns, recovery planning, and other identified treatment needs.
• Facilitate structured therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate progress notes and other required documentation.
• Participate in ASAM-informed treatment planning and level-of-care decisions as appropriate to the clinician’s role and qualifications.
• Identify and respond appropriately to changes in a patient’s behavioral health status, including potential safety concerns.
• Coordinate services with nursing, medical providers, case management, behavioral health technicians, administration, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Participate in case conferences, clinical staffing, discharge planning, and continuity-of-care activities.
• Assist patients with development of relapse-prevention, recovery, and aftercare plans.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with patients at all times.
• Protect patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational confidentiality requirements.
• Maintain documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with organizational, payer, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
• Follow applicable Arkansas requirements, CARF standards, organizational policies and procedures, and professional ethical standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, chart review, compliance, and clinical documentation activities as requested.
• Complete required training and maintain all licenses, certifications, and continuing education requirements applicable to the position.
• Perform other clinical duties within the employee’s education, training, competency, and professional scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Addiction Studies, Behavioral Health, or another applicable behavioral health field, when required for the applicant’s professional credential.
• Current and active Arkansas behavioral health or substance use disorder credential appropriate for the services being provided.

Acceptable credentials may include

• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
• Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW)
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
• Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC)
• Licensed Associate Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LAADAC)
• Other applicable Arkansas behavioral health credentials may be considered.

Applicants holding an associate-level or supervised credential must be eligible to practice in accordance with all applicable Arkansas supervision requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, addiction treatment, residential treatment, detoxification, PHP, IOP, or similar healthcare settings.
• Experience facilitating individual and group counseling.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Familiarity with ASAM criteria and levels of care.
• Experience with treatment planning and clinical documentation.
• Experience working with electronic medical records.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Understanding of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.

Work Environment

This position works directly with adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and behavioral health needs. The clinician will interact regularly with patients, therapists, counselors, nurses, medical providers, behavioral health technicians, case management, and administrative staff.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Candidates must maintain all licenses, registrations, supervision agreements, and/or certifications required by the State of Arkansas for their professional discipline and assigned responsibilities.

Current Arkansas licensure or credentialing must be verified prior to providing services requiring that credential.
