Atlanta Couple Therapy is hiring an experienced Licensed Social Workers . We're an established, relationship-focused practice, and our clients come to us specifically for relationship work. You're never selling anyone on therapy. You're just doing it.

You'll have room to grow a couples-focused caseload inside a supportive practice, with operational and administrative support such as scheduling, intake and billing, so more of your week stays clinical.

Licensed Social Workers in Georgia are welcome to apply. Telehealth and in-person options are available depending on the position, with flexible scheduling where the role allows.

The practice generally operates Monday through Thursday, and we're ideally looking for someone who can also offer two evenings every other week and a half-day Saturday every other week.

Job Overview

Licensed Social Worker / Therapist

Atlanta Couple Therapy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and client-centered Licensed Social Worker to join our growing therapy practice. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals and couples strengthen their relationships, improve communication, navigate life transitions, and create meaningful, lasting change.

This role is well suited for a clinician who values high-quality care, strong therapeutic relationships, evidence-based treatment, and working collaboratively within a supportive private-practice environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and couples therapy to clients experiencing relationship challenges, communication difficulties, infidelity, separation or divorce concerns, family transitions, anxiety, stress, trauma, and other emotional or relational concerns.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and clinical evaluations to identify client needs, treatment goals, strengths, and appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans based on client goals and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Utilize therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, attachment-based interventions, and other appropriate treatment modalities.
  • Support couples in improving communication, rebuilding trust, managing conflict, strengthening emotional connection, and navigating major relationship transitions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and professional clinical documentation within the practice's electronic health record system.
  • Complete progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, discharge documentation, and other required clinical records in accordance with professional and practice standards.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, ethical guidelines, licensure requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Identify and appropriately respond to safety concerns, mental health crises, and situations requiring additional resources or higher levels of care.
  • Coordinate referrals and community resources when clients require services outside the clinician's scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians and members of the practice team to support continuity of care and positive client outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, clinical consultation, supervision when applicable, and ongoing professional development.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients regarding scheduling, treatment-related concerns, and continuity of care.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, culturally responsive, inclusive, and supportive therapeutic environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Current and active social work license in the State of Georgia appropriate for providing clinical services.
  • Experience providing psychotherapy in an outpatient, private practice, behavioral health, or similar clinical setting.
  • Experience providing couples or relationship therapy is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of assessment, treatment planning, clinical documentation, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Familiarity with relationship concerns such as communication breakdown, conflict, intimacy concerns, infidelity, separation, divorce, blended families, premarital concerns, and relationship transitions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches to mental health treatment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.
  • Comfortable using electronic health record systems, telehealth platforms, and other practice-management technology.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a clinical and administrative team.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, ethical standards, and excellent client care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with couples and families.
  • Training in couples therapy modalities such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Imago Relationship Therapy, or similar approaches.
  • Experience addressing infidelity, intimacy concerns, discernment counseling, premarital counseling, blended-family concerns, or high-conflict relationships.
  • Experience providing telehealth psychotherapy.
  • Familiarity with insurance documentation, CPT codes, and behavioral health billing requirements is a plus.
