Licensed Professional Counselor / Therapist / LCSW - Must be fully licensed

The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at the Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides clinical services to youth with complex emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. The LPC is responsible for delivering trauma-informed care through individual, group, and family therapy, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure therapeutic goals are achieved.

ResponsibilitiesTherapeutic Services

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
• Conduct family therapy sessions to support family reunification and improve family dynamics.
• Develop and implement trauma-informed treatment plans tailored to each resident’s unique needs and goals.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and skill-building.

Assessment and Documentation

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including psychosocial histories, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and evaluate residents' progress, updating treatment plans as necessary.

Collaboration and Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with RTC staff, caseworkers, educators, and other professionals to coordinate care and services.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide clinical insights and recommendations.
• Serve as a resource for staff, offering guidance on trauma-informed strategies and interventions.

Crisis Intervention

• Respond to crisis situations promptly, providing stabilization and support to youth in distress.
• Develop and implement safety plans to manage risks and ensure a secure environment.

Program Development and Training

• Assist in the development of therapeutic programs and activities that align with residents' treatment goals.
• Provide training to staff on trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and behavioral interventions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Active LPC license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in residential or similar settings.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and evidence-based practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Familiarity with documentation and reporting requirements for RTC settings.
• Certification in trauma-focused modalities such as TF-CBT, DBT, or EMDR is a plus.

Work Environment

• The role involves working in a residential setting with youth who may exhibit challenging behaviors and require therapeutic support.
• Some evening or weekend hours may be required to meet the needs of residents and families.
