Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – School-Based

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our school-based mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to students within the school environment, promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and positive development. Duties

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on adolescent development, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop personalized treatment plans that support students’ mental health needs.
• Implement evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy for children, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) when appropriate.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and crisis interventions to ensure immediate safety and long-term progress.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and school policies using social work documentation tools and medical records systems.
• Provide case management services including referral coordination for additional community resources or specialized services such as autism support or developmental disabilities programs.
• Engage in cultural diversity counseling to address the unique backgrounds of students while fostering an inclusive environment.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with experience working in a school setting preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent development, child & youth therapy, and special education needs.
• Proficiency in crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care practices.
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to mental health care and familiarity with medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for working with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage caseloads efficiently while adhering to clinical documentation standards and data collection protocols.

Pay: From $60.00 per hour
