Position Summary

VBHS is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our growing behavioral health team.

The LPC will provide client-centered counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families with a variety of behavioral health needs. The position serves a diverse population, including children and adolescents ages 5–17 and adults ages 18 and older.

The LPC will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team and provide services in person and/or through telehealth.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and/or group counseling.
• Conduct behavioral health assessments and identify client needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and client goals.
• Provide psychotherapy using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Help clients develop healthy coping skills and strategies.
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed.
• Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as appropriate.
• Provide mental health education and support to clients and families.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, social workers, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
• Complete required documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional licensing requirements.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and other clinical activities.
• Connect clients and families with appropriate community and behavioral health resources.

Client Population

VBHS serves:

• Children and adolescents ages 5–17
• Adults ages 18 and older
• Individuals and families with a variety of mental health and behavioral health needs

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Current Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the State of Texas.
• Previous experience providing mental health or behavioral health services preferred.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish positive therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
• Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation

Compensation is negotiable and based on experience, qualifications, licensure, and employment arrangement.

VBHS offers full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible scheduling. Compensation may be structured as an hourly rate or based on billable/client hours, depending on the position and employment arrangement.

Candidates with relevant clinical experience, specialized training, or additional qualifications may be considered for higher compensation.
