STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS OPPORTUNITY

Faith Recovery is a nonprofit organization and may qualify as an eligible employer under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Employees with qualifying federal Direct Loans may be eligible to have their remaining loan balance forgiven after making 120 qualifying monthly payments while working for an eligible employer. Individual eligibility is determined by the U.S. Department of Education.

Faith Recovery is seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Professional Counselor to join our growing clinical team. This position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful, individualized care in a supportive, faith-based environment while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Unlike many treatment settings, this position is designed around a light, manageable caseload. We want our counselors to have sufficient time to build strong therapeutic relationships, complete documentation during working hours, collaborate with the treatment team, and provide high-quality care without becoming overwhelmed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to adults receiving substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health services.
  • Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge planning, and other required clinical documentation.
  • Maintain a light and manageable caseload.
  • Collaborate with medical providers, peer recovery specialists, case managers, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Participate in treatment-team meetings and contribute to individualized care planning.
  • Support clients in developing coping skills, strengthening recovery capital, and establishing sustainable plans for continued recovery.
  • Provide trauma-informed, person-centered, and ethically responsible care.
  • Maintain compliance with Virginia regulations, professional standards, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor credential required.
  • Master’s degree in counseling or a related behavioral-health field.
  • Experience providing substance use disorder or co-occurring mental health treatment preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Comfortable working within and supporting a faith-based recovery environment.
  • Commitment to treating every client with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Why Join Faith Recovery?

  • Light, manageable caseload
  • Strong emphasis on work-life balance
  • Supportive and collaborative leadership
  • Faith-based, mission-driven work environment
  • Opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with clients
  • Interdisciplinary clinical and medical support
  • Growing organization with opportunities for professional development
  • The ability to focus on quality care rather than an unmanageable number of clients

Faith Recovery is committed to providing a supportive workplace where clinicians have the time, resources, and professional autonomy necessary to do their best work. If you are looking for a counseling position that allows you to make a meaningful impact without sacrificing your personal well-being, we would love to hear from you.
