Position: Licensed Professional Counselor | Bilingual, a plus
Center Location: 3171 N 93rd Street Omaha, NE 68134
Hours: 20 Hours per week; non-exempt
Hourly Rate: Based upon experience and qualifications
Position Purpose: Essential Pregnancy Services is a life-affirming and faith-based nonprofit pregnancy resource center that is dedicated to assisting women and families with unplanned pregnancies by helping them build a healthy future through support, education, health services, material assistance and referrals. The greatest needs of a teen or a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy is the medical care needed to answer her immediate questions on pregnancy, as well as the opportunity to be listened to in an environment that is safe and confidential.
A Licensed Professional Counselor at EPS is responsible for all counseling referrals sent by EPS employees, conducting initial assessments to determine client mental health needs and eligibility for EPS behavioral health services. Manages counseling waitlist, mental health documentation, statistics and external mental health referrals. Provides individualized crisis, short-term and long-term counseling services for clients as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Commitment to the mission, core values and services provided by EPS
- Adhere to ethical and professional guidelines by maintaining appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality at all times.
- Provide direct mental health services to EPS clients that include, but are not limited to: Intake assessments, crisis intervention and assessment, individualized mental health referrals, education through teaching, and individual, couple and group counseling.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all EPS mental health documentation.
- Provide follow-up calls to potential, current and former counseling clients as needed.
- Assess client mental health status and presenting issues through interviewing, formal assessments and client observations.
- Design, implement, and regularly update treatment plans.
- Create session notes for each mental health service rendered.
- Maintain client records in a timely manner as required by the State of Nebraska’s code of ethics and in accordance with the Document Retention Policy outlined in the Behavioral Health Procedures & Policies.
- Maintain and regularly update the EPS Counseling Waitlist for clients eligible for EPS Counseling Services.
- Maintain an updated counseling referral list for clients who are not qualified for EPS Counseling Services.
- Lead psychoeducational groups.
- Place client appointments in the eKYROS scheduler on a weekly basis and ensure accuracy of upcoming and completed appointments.
- Ensure accurate billing through NPCN for eligible clients
- Maintain and report monthly department statistics to Director of Finance and Administration
- Maintain licensure and continuing education; understand updated treatment interventions, best-practice protocols, and licensure requirements within the mental health field.
Additional Responsibilities
- Attends monthly EPS Staff Meeting
- Attend the bi-weekly Life Services Department meeting
- Follow EPS approved policies and procedures
- Meet individually with the Director of Clinical Services monthly.
- Monitor and maintain client databases for accuracy of upcoming and completed appointments
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability and willingness to become familiar with EPS services.
- Utilize appropriate interpersonal and crisis intervention skills to provide loving, non-judgmental service and care to abortion vulnerable and minded women.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and technology skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with clients in a professional manner in-person and via telehealth.
- Attention to detail and ability and willingness to follow policies and procedures.
- Work independently and as a team player for projects.
- Willing to assist with miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP or LIMHP) in the state of Nebraska, active and in good standing.
- 3+ years counseling and care coordination experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required
