Job Summary

The therapist provides clinical assessment, diagnosis, and compassionate, evidence-based treatment to adult patients experiencing a variety of mental health and/or co-occurring substance use concerns.

Responsibilities include managing an outpatient caseload, developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans, maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, and collaborating with other members of the patient's treatment team.

This position may also include facilitating weekly Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups for adults with mental health and/or co-occurring presentations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and formulate diagnoses of mental health and/or substance use conditions.
• Provide individual psychotherapy and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing professional counseling standards and evidence-based practices.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
• Collaborate with psychiatric providers, medical providers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Initiate internal referrals for additional services when clinically indicated.
• Identify patients experiencing urgent mental health concerns, including suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, psychosis, or other acute presentations, and facilitate appropriate intervention or referral to emergency or higher levels of care.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, treatment plans, group services, and other required clinical information.
• Provide urgent clinical assessment when clinically indicated.
• Provide group and family therapy when appropriate.
• Facilitate Intensive Outpatient Program groups as assigned.
• Participate in a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care and treatment.
• Maintain professional knowledge and clinical competency through continuing education, staff meetings, training, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Mexico.
• Applicable licenses may include LMHC, LPCC, LMFT, LMSW, LCSW, or Psychologist.
• Experience providing psychotherapy to adult populations preferred.
• Experience treating serious mental illness, substance use disorders, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, or co-occurring conditions is preferred.
• Experience with evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, or other adult-focused therapeutic approaches is a plus.

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Albuquerque or relocate prior to starting employment.

Work arrangement: In-person with hybrid remote opportunities available based on position and scheduling needs.

Pay: $65,000–$110,000 per year, commensurate with licensure and experience.
