Reports To: Medical Director
Salary Range: $30.03 - 42.17/hr, DOE
Work Hours: Monday thru Friday (every other Saturday from 10 am -2 pm)
Behavioral Healthcare Management is a mental health clinic serving a primarily Medicare-enrolled patient population. We are seeking a licensed therapist to provide individual, group, and family therapy as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. Because this role serves Medicare beneficiaries, the clinician must be enrolled (or eligible to enroll) as a Medicare provider and must document services to Medicare medical-necessity standards. The ideal candidate is clinically skilled, compassionate, and committed to ethical, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and substance use and mental assessments.
- Develop, implement, and update master treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy that is medically necessary and documented per the treatment plan.
- Must be able to perform written documentation within 24 hours.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record, consistent with HIPAA and Medicare / third-party payer requirements.
- Ensure all services and documentation meet Medicare medical-necessity standards and support clean claims and billing.
- Participate in regular treatment team meetings, case staffings, and treatment plan reviews.
- Coordinate with nursing, psychiatric, and medical staff on medication management and client needs.
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
- Maintain client confidentiality and uphold the ethical code of the relevant licensing board and the organization.
- Complete required reporting and meet documentation deadlines.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field.
- Active, unrestricted Kentucky license in one of the following:
- LCSW (Licensed Certified Social Worker) — Kentucky Social Work Licensing Board.
- LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) — Kentucky Board of Examiners in Counseling & Marriage and Family Therapy. (Note: for Medicare purposes, an Kentucky LPC enrolls under Medicare's “Mental Health Counselor (MHC)” provider category.)
- Current CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Medicare enrollment: Active enrollment as a Medicare provider with a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI), or eligibility and willingness to enroll prior to seeing Medicare patients.
- Ability to pass a background check and any required health screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a behavioral health, residential, or substance use or mental health treatment setting.
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid documentation and medical-necessity standards.
- Experience with [specific modalities — e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, MAT support].
