Frisco, TX $79k – $120k a year Parttime, Fulltime, Contract 6 days ago

About the role

Lone Star Counseling & Assessment Center is a private practice in Frisco, Texas, and we are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and independently licensed mental health therapist to join our clinical team.

This position is for fully and independently licensed clinicians only. We are not currently considering Associates or provisionally licensed clinicians.

About the Position

The therapist will provide individual psychotherapy to clients presenting with a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns.

A significant advantage of this position is that the therapist will begin with their desired number of clients rather than having to gradually build a caseload over time. We currently have an established referral base and available clients, allowing the incoming therapist to start with a caseload that aligns with their preferred weekly schedule and capacity.

Depending on the clinician's experience and areas of interest, opportunities may include working with children, adolescents, adults, and/or families.

Common presenting concerns within our practice include:

  • Anxiety and related disorders
  • Depression
  • ADHD and executive functioning concerns

  • Behavioral and emotional regulation concerns
  • School-related difficulties
  • Relationship and family concerns
  • Trauma-related concerns
  • Life transitions

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality individual psychotherapy to assigned clients
  • Complete intake assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Maintain consistent and clinically appropriate treatment schedules
  • Complete progress notes and other clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
  • Maintain appropriate communication with parents, families, and other professionals when applicable
  • Coordinate care with physicians, schools, psychiatrists, and other providers when clinically appropriate and authorized
  • Follow all ethical, legal, HIPAA, and practice requirements
  • Communicate effectively with administrative staff regarding scheduling and client needs
  • Participate in consultation and collaboration with other clinicians as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted Texas license as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT
  • Must be independently licensed to practice without supervision
  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related mental health field
  • Experience providing outpatient psychotherapy
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a group-practice environment

Please note: LPC-Associates, LMSWs, LMFT-Associates, and other provisionally licensed clinicians are not eligible for this position at this time.

What We Offer

  • Ability to begin with your desired number of therapy clients
  • No lengthy caseload-building period
  • Established and consistent stream of client referrals
  • Administrative support for scheduling and client intake
  • Insurance billing and benefits-verification support
  • Comfortable and professional office environment
  • Electronic health record and practice-management system
  • Collaborative clinical environment
  • Opportunity to select a caseload that fits your preferred schedule and clinical interests
