Licensed Mental Health Therapist
About the role
Cognitive Clarity Counseling is a small private practice located in Apex, North Carolina, focused on connection and positive client experience.
We believe the best clinical outcomes come from clinicians who have a clear sense of identity in their work—whether that’s a population, modality, or lived-experience-informed specialty.
We are not a high-volume “see anyone for anything” practice. We are a specialty-aligned, depth-oriented practice that prioritizes meaningful clinical work over productivity-based churn.
Our clinicians tend to specialize in areas such as:
- ADHD and executive functioning support
- Neurodivergent populations (adult or adolescent)
- Anxiety and high-functioning anxiety
- Trauma-focused therapy and EMDR
- Adolescents and young adult populations
- Somatic, integrative, or experiential approaches
- Emerging or non-traditional modalities (hypnotherapy, energy-informed work, etc.)
We welcome clinicians who bring a defined lens, modality, or passion into their clinical identity.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a clinician who:
- Has a clearly defined clinical niche or area of passion
- Enjoys depth-oriented, relational clinical work
- Values autonomy and professional independence
- Is comfortable building and maintaining a consistent caseload over time
- Wants to be part of a small, intentional, values-driven practice
- Is open to working in office at least two days of the week until 6:30pm to accommodate after work/school hours.
Minimum Requirements:
- Fully licensed in North Carolina (LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) preferred
- Associate-level clinicians considered if they bring strong life experience and/or clinical direction in the form of passion.
- Ability to work independently without in-house supervision (external supervision is the clinician’s responsibility unless otherwise arranged)

What Makes This Practice Different
This is not a traditional group practice model. We prioritize:
- Clinician autonomy in clinical style and specialty focus
- Low administrative friction
- Flexible, sustainable caseload expectations
- Clinician wellbeing
We are especially interested in clinicians who feel called to a specific population or modality—not generalists trying to “do everything.”
Compensation Structure (Transparent & Predictable)
We use a hybrid W2 compensation model designed for stability and long-term growth:
1. Hourly Pay
Clinicians are paid for all approved professional time, including:
- Client sessions with documentation
- Case coordination
- Marketing or outreach events
- Administrative practice responsibilities
2. Clinical Revenue Share
In addition to hourly pay:
- Clinicians receive a percentage of collected revenue per clinical session
3. Productivity Flex Benefit Bonus
Clinicians are eligible for a quarterly caseload-based bonus, designed to reward consistency over time.
Bonus structure is based on average weekly caseload:
- 15–19 clients/week
- 20–22 clients/week
- 23+ clients/week
