Licensed Mental Health Therapist

Overview (California Licensed Clinicians only, no associates considered for this position) Hybrid options available to those that qualify.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist (Clinical Psychologists (PsyD/PhD, LMFTs, LCSWs, and LCCs) that hold California licenses to practice independently to join our multidisciplinary team that serves mostly first responders and their families. The ideal candidate will experience with first responders, or be a former first responder. The provider will provide comprehensive mental health services, including individual and family counseling, to first responders and their familes. This role involves conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based therapies in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and via telehealth. The therapist will play a vital role in supporting clients through crisis management, behavioral interventions, and recovery processes while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate and timely medical documentation.

$80 for licensed master's level clinicians, $100 to supervise. With bonuses and benefits.

$100 for Licensed Clinical Psychologists, $110 to supervise. With bonuses and benefits.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing diagnostic tools aligned with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
• Provide individual, group, and family counseling using techniques such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and dance therapy.
• Implement specialized interventions for clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, PTSD, chronic pain, and other mental health conditions.
• Engage in crisis intervention and crisis management to ensure client safety and stabilization.
• Facilitate intake sessions and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Utilize telehealth experience to deliver remote therapy sessions effectively.
• Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers on case management, medication management (including psychopharmacology), and discharge planning.
• Participate in clinical research projects or data collection efforts to improve therapeutic outcomes.
• Stay current with medical terminology, ICD coding updates, CPT coding, and behavioral health best practices.
• Support clients with addiction counseling, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, or working with people with disabilities or geriatrics as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field; licensure as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience in mental health counseling across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, inpatient/outpatient settings, and special education environments.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies such as prolonged exposure (PE), cognitive processing therapy (CPT) cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), psychodynamic therapy, and behavior management techniques, etc.
• Experience working with children & family counseling, mental health disorders, PTSD care, chronic pain management, or addiction counseling is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10/ICD coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and billing purposes.
• Ability to conduct intake assessments accurately and develop effective treatment strategies.
• Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations compassionately.
• Proficiency in medical documentation systems and understanding of medical terminology related to behavioral health.
• Telehealth experience preferred; must be comfortable delivering remote therapy sessions when necessary.

This position is hourly. You are able to work as many hours as you want and we are able to fill your schedule with as many client hours as you want. We require at least 15 client hours a week.

Pay: $80.00 - $110.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week

• Do you have a license to conduct therapy independently in the state of California? (licensed psychologist, LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, etc.) Unlicensed personnel are not authorized or considered for this position.
• Preference for experience in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) or be willing to learn it and use it with first responders and veterans.
• We can provide you as many hours as you want but we require at least 10 client hours a week. Can you see at least 15 clients a week? How many hours a week do you want to work?
