Licensed Mental Health Therapist

RL Counseling Group is an Outpatient Mental Health Agency who provides mental health services to clients in Maryland. We are now hiring for a mental health therapist (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, or LCPC) with experience of at least 1 year of mental health or substance abuse therapy. In this role, you will provide individual and group therapy for substance abuse clients on site at several different locations throughout Baltimore. We are looking for a clinician who is hard-working, a team player, compassionate, and wants to make a difference in the lives of others. Hours and schedule are somewhat flexible but we are looking for a full-time position.

POSITION: Mental Health Therapist

SUPERVISED BY: Clinical Director

POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of the Mental Health Therapist is to provide individual therapy for clients with a range of substance abuse and mental health disorders. The Therapist conducts individual therapy sessions via telehealth platform and documents progress in a clinical record according to standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION/LICENSURE: Licensed in the State of Maryland as a social worker or professional counselor:

Current licensure in Maryland:

LMSW or LCSW-C; or

LGPC or LCPC

2. EXPERIENCE: At least twelve months experience working in the mental health and/or substance abuse fields. Experience with substance abuse population preferred but not required.

3. KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING

Knowledge of mental health and addiction issues.

4. REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE

Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and other agencies that can provide services to the clients and families.

Basic knowledge of 12-Step or Recovery Programs

Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building, as well as the following competencies:

• Confidentiality
• Patient Rights
• Professional Code of Ethics
• Discrimination
• Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions.
• Flexibility to adapt to schedule changes and assumption of responsibilities not delineated in the job description which are related to work as a member of a treatment team.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION

• Completes biopsychosocial intake on clients within appropriate timeframe.

• Completes the client's treatment plan within appropriate timeframe.

• Counsel clients individually to assist in overcoming mental health issues, adjusting to life, and making positive changes.
• Perform ongoing clinical assessments and adjust treatment plan as needed.
• De-escalate client crises as needed

• Coordinate client care with other providers

• Documents all activities in the client medical record and files all notes in the charts on a daily basis for UR purposes.
• Attends all staff meetings and trainings to enhance communication with operational and other staff regarding program and client issues.
• Ensure clinical licensure and all requirements are up to date.
• Complete all assigned paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely manner.
• Complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.
• Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality client care.
• Participate in maintaining clean, properly supplied and efficient work areas.
• Observe and report safety, maintenance problems.
• Interact appropriately with clients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries.
• Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to effectively manage client behavior.
• Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with agency privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider. to treatment, payment or other agency operations.

• Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding agency policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
