Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. Duties

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately identify client needs.
• Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavior management, and psychodynamic therapy.
• Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth counseling sessions using modalities like behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy, and social work techniques.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during emergencies.
• Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), ensuring accurate medical terminology and adherence to clinical documentation standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management, treatment planning, and patient care coordination for individuals with co-occurring disorders or complex mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in psychotherapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavior management.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and those experiencing PTSD or chronic pain.
• Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and familiarity with medical records management.
• Experience working in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, or hospital environments is highly desirable.
• Skilled in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management procedures to support clients during urgent situations.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with healthcare professionals; experience with telehealth therapy is preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical research methods and evidence-based practices to inform treatment strategies; familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
