Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Provide individual, group, family, and couples counseling utilizing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral management techniques.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute emotional distress or safety concerns.
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change.
• Document all clinical encounters accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical record standards; maintain detailed case notes and progress reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and community organizations to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Manage cases involving children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), applying applied behavior analysis (ABA) when appropriate.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding systems; assess for PTSD, addiction issues, or other mental health conditions requiring specialized interventions.
• Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing therapeutic outcomes.
• Stay current with best practices in mental health counseling, crisis management, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health settings.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Licensed Family Therapist or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
• Proven experience providing psychotherapy services across diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and families.
• Strong knowledge of behavioral health therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention techniques.
• Familiarity with medical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes, and electronic health records management.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate trauma-informed care when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging clients effectively while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Knowledge of working within hospital or community care environments is preferred; experience in pediatrics or special education settings is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations efficiently while maintaining composure under pressure. Pay: $56,715.14 - $68,302.11 per year
