Duties

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately diagnose conditions such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, and co-occurring disorders.
• Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies to effectively manage acute psychiatric emergencies while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
• Develop detailed treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, ensuring consistency with medical records and electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Provide specialized counseling services such as grief counseling, addiction counseling, pediatric therapy, and behavior management for children, adolescents, and adults.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts, facilitate social work interventions, and support patients with developmental disabilities or autism.
• Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes within behavioral health settings.

Qualifications

• Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent credential in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings; experience in hospital or clinic environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), and trauma-focused approaches.
• Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology related to mental health diagnoses.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, or co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, treatment planning software, EMR/EHR systems, and telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement, crisis management, patient assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to handle crisis situations effectively while maintaining composure under pressure; experience in crisis management is essential.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
