Salary Range

$84,000-$101,867 per year (DOE)

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will provide brief, solution-focused therapy, group interventions, and psychological support for adults participating in industrial rehabilitation programs. You will play a vital role in helping individuals regain control, confidence, and resilience following workplace injuries. This position emphasizes cultural and linguistic sensitivity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and elements of case management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake, progress, and discharge evaluations, documenting findings and preparing reports
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans focused on recovery goals, stress management, and resilience building
  • Lead group therapy sessions that promote peer support and shared coping strategies
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to ensure integrated, holistic care
  • Document patient progress thoroughly in compliance with program and regulatory standards
  • Participate in case conferences and team meetings to adjust care plans as needed
  • Identify and address psychological factors impacting rehabilitation within a short-term intervention framework

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Washington State License: LICSW, LMFT, or LMHC in good standing
  • 2-5 years of experience in mental health counseling, ideally in short-term intervention or rehabilitation settings
  • Skilled in facilitating group therapy sessions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Washington State L\&I guidelines and processes
  • Experience with chronic pain and trauma-related care
  • Strong computer and EMR documentation skills
