Licensed Mental Health Clinician – Per Diem

Beacon Behavior is a small, trauma-informed mental health agency in Portland, Maine. We provide outpatient counseling and community-based behavioral health services in a warm, relational, and supportive environment.

The Position

We are seeking a Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Clinician for a flexible per diem position. Clinicians may choose to maintain a small part-time caseload or build a larger caseload based on availability, professional goals, client needs, and appropriate client matches.

This is a hybrid position, with opportunities to provide outpatient therapy from our Portland office and through telehealth when appropriate. Clinicians may also choose to provide case management services, but case management is not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient individual therapy
• Complete timely progress notes and required clinical documentation
• Maintain professional and ethical standards
• Participate in supervision or consultation as required
• Coordinate with other providers and community resources when appropriate
• Communicate with the team when support or consultation is needed
• Participate in required onboarding and training
• Provide case management services only if desired and applicable

Education and Licensure

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field
• Appropriate Maine clinical or provisional licensure
• Qualified applicants may include LCSW, LMSW-CC, LCPC, LCPC-C, LMFT, or another appropriately credentialed Maine mental health professional

Schedule and Compensation

Employment type: Per diem

Outpatient therapy: $45 per completed 60-minute client session

Case management: $35 per completed 60 minutes of case management services

Compensation is based on completed billable services. Additional details about scheduling, documentation, cancellations, supervision, training, and caseload development will be discussed during the interview process.
