Trauma-Focused Mental Health Therapist (EMDR Certified or Trained Preferred)

Open Arms Wellness, a growing group private practice serving the St. Louis area, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed EMDR Therapist to join our expanding behavioral health team. We are especially interested in clinicians who are EMDR Certified, EMDRIA Approved Consultants, or actively working toward certification, though all therapists with formal EMDR training are encouraged to apply.
Our practice is experiencing significant demand for trauma-focused services, creating an excellent opportunity for an EMDR therapist to quickly build and maintain a thriving caseload.
About the Role
As an EMDR therapist at Open Arms Wellness, you will provide specialized trauma treatment to adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, including:
- PTSD and complex trauma
- Childhood trauma
- Anxiety disorders
- Depression
- Grief and loss
- Relationship difficulties
- Attachment wounds
- Medical trauma
- First responder and healthcare worker trauma
- Life transitions and stress-related disorders
You will have the autonomy to practice according to your clinical expertise while benefiting from a collaborative team environment that values professional growth, clinician wellness, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing EMDR and other evidence-based therapies
- Provide individual psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults
- Utilize trauma-informed care principles throughout treatment
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and professional standards
- Participate in consultation and collaboration with interdisciplinary providers as appropriate
- Provide telehealth and in-person therapy services
- Support clients in achieving meaningful healing, symptom reduction, and improved functioning
Preferred Qualifications
- Current EMDRIA-approved EMDR training completed
- EMDR Certified Therapist preferred
- EMDRIA Approved Consultant preferred but not required
- Experience treating trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, dissociation, anxiety, and attachment-related concerns
- Training in complementary trauma modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Polyvagal-Informed Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, or Trauma-Focused CBT is highly valued
- Experience providing telehealth services
- Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
- Commitment to continued professional development and evidence-based practice
Requirements
Current fully independent Missouri licensure as one of the following:
- PhD or PsyD
- LCSW
- LMFT
- LPC/LCPC
Additional Requirements:
- EMDR training through an EMDRIA-approved program
- Ability to maintain a caseload of 20+ clinical hours per week
- Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered care

Pay: $74,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
