Licensed Counselor

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Counselor to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide expert counseling services across a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and telehealth platforms. This role involves delivering evidence-based therapies, conducting comprehensive assessments, and supporting clients through their mental health journeys. The Licensed Counselor will play a vital role in promoting emotional well-being and recovery for diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Candidates with experience in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, addiction counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
• Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with client needs and clinical best practices.
• Provide crisis management and intervention support for clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral crises.
• Offer specialized counseling services including child & family counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and facilitate integrated care approaches.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to extend access to mental health services remotely.
• Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to the field’s knowledge base.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in mental health treatment modalities and ICD coding updates.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or equivalent credential.
• Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, or art/dance therapy.
• Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
• Experience providing services in outpatient or inpatient settings; telehealth experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards including HIPAA compliance.
• Strong communication skills for intake assessments, patient care planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, and those facing complex mental health challenges such as PTSD or chronic pain.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
