Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and energetic Licensed Clinician/Therapist to join our dynamic behavioral health team. We are partnered with Durham Public Schools to provide Outpatient Therapy to students in the school setting and are seeking an eager clinician to provide comprehensive mental health and behavioral care services at assigned school(s). You will be working with youth facing mental health challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, struggles with inattention, impulsivity, behavioral struggles, and co-occurring disorders that can be complex. You will deliver evidence-based therapies, conduct thorough client assessments, and coordinate care to promote progress towards goals and ongoing success. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or other related field from an accredited graduate program/college.
• Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LCSW-A), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC/LCMHC-A), or equivalent credential required.
• Experience in psychotherapy, mental health counseling, family counseling, or behavioral health settings.
• Availability to do in person sessions at least two days weekly in the Durham area at one or multiple assigned public-school settings.
• Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for accurate client assessment and documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, and working with individuals experiencing mental health crises.
• Experience working with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation and medical records management.
• Excellent communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review initial Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and intake documentation to build treatment plans and interventions to meet client’s individualized personal needs and goals.
• Provide individual sessions and family therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
• Communicate and coordinate monthly with school point person to provide updates on client’s, gather insight, and coordinate care.
• Implement, evaluate, and modify personalized treatment plans aligned with client needs, ensuring adherence to clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
• Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques, crisis management protocols, and de-escalation strategies to ensure client safety.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including school staff, medical providers, social workers, and case managers—to coordinate integrated care plans for clients with co-occurring disorders.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using EMR/EHR systems, documenting all client interactions, progress notes, treatment updates, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical standards.
• Proper and timely submission of documentation of all information required by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Diverse Family Services LLC.
• Attend required clinical meetings, assigned supervisions, and provide requested data collection in efforts related to mental health outcomes or treatment efficacy to support continuous quality improvement initiatives
• If desired, there is an opportunity to complete initial Comprehensive Clinical Assessments and Annual Comprehensive Clinical assessments with population served.

Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 18.0 per week
