Licensed Clinician — Independent Contractor

Healing Road Counseling Services, LLC is a culturally sensitive mental health organization providing therapeutic services to children, individuals, couples, and families. We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and Professional Licensed Clinician to join our growing team. We are currently hiring a clinician for contract position. Position is available immediately. We are particularly interested in a clinician who is able and willing to provide in-person services at our Hackettstown, NJ office, in addition to telehealth services as appropriate.

Position Summary

The Licensed Clinician will provide high-quality outpatient behavioral health services to clients experiencing a range of mental health concerns, life challenges, family difficulties, and relational concerns. Services may include

  • Individual therapy for adults and children ages 7 and older
  • Couples counseling
  • Family therapy
  • Telehealth and/or in-person counseling
  • Care coordination and appropriate referrals
  • Other clinically appropriate behavioral health services within the clinician’s scope of practice

We are especially interested in a clinician who enjoys working with children, adolescents, couples, and families and who are committed to providing culturally responsive, compassionate, and evidence-informed care.

Responsibilities & Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate, ethical, and culturally sensitive outpatient mental health services to clients as scheduled.
  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy based on clinical training, experience, and scope of practice.
  • Work with children and adolescents ages 7 and older, when appropriate to the clinician’s qualifications and clinical experience.
  • Provide parenting support and skills training when clinically appropriate.
  • Deliver services through telehealth and/or in-person sessions.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate treatment plans and clinical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client records within the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Protect client confidentiality and maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements.
  • Maintain good standing with the appropriate professional licensing boards and insurance entities.
  • Complete required and recommended continuing education.
  • Remain current with relevant research, clinical developments, and evidence-based best practices.
  • Recognize when additional services, community resources, or higher levels of care may be appropriate and make referrals when necessary.
  • Be familiar with community referral resources and collaborate with other providers as clinically appropriate.
  • Actively participate as a positive and collaborative member of the clinic environment.
  • Demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries, communication, and self-care.
  • Manage scheduling and caseload responsibilities effectively and independently.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, behavior analysis, or another related mental health field.
  • Active New Jersey clinical/professional license or credential appropriate to the services provided, such as LSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D./Psy.D.), BCBA, or other applicable credential.
  • Must be willing to provide in-person services in our Hackettstown, NJ office.
  • Experience working with children ages 7 and older, adolescents, and families is preferred.
  • Experience providing couples counseling and/or family therapy is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking clinicians are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively managing time and clinical responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and demonstrate effective self-care.
  • Ability to work positively and collaboratively with other clinic staff and professionals.
  • Understanding of appropriate timing for referrals and coordination of care.
  • Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and client-centered clinical practice.
