Scioto Wellness Center is a growing behavioral health organization providing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in an outpatient setting.

We are seeking a Clinical Therapist to join our team. This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys building relationships with clients, providing meaningful one-on-one therapy, completing clinical intakes, and working as part of a supportive clinical team.

Position Overview

The Clinical Therapist will primarily provide individual therapy and one-on-one clinical check-ins for clients receiving treatment for substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and co-occurring conditions.

A key responsibility of this position will also be completing clinical intakes for new admissions, including gathering clinical history, assessing presenting needs, identifying appropriate treatment goals, and helping establish the client's initial plan of care.

Unlike many outpatient therapist positions, this role will have minimal group facilitation responsibilities. The majority of clinical time will be focused on individual client care, clinical intakes, maintaining a manageable caseload, and collaborating with the treatment team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry and manage an assigned clinical caseload
• Provide individual therapy and one-on-one clinical check-ins
• Complete clinical intakes for newly admitted clients
• Gather and document relevant mental health, substance use, psychosocial, and treatment history during the intake process
• Identify client needs, clinical concerns, treatment goals, and appropriate recommendations
• Work with clients presenting with both mental health and substance use disorder needs
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans
• Complete timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation
• Monitor client progress and identify changes in clinical needs
• Participate in treatment planning and coordination of care
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, case management, admissions, and support staff
• Provide minimal group facilitation as needed
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
• Follow applicable Ohio regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies

Required Licensure

Candidates must hold an active Ohio license in at least one of the following:

• LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor
• LPCC – Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
• LSW – Licensed Social Worker
• LISW – Licensed Independent Social Worker

Applicants without one of the above active Ohio licenses will not be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting
• Experience completing clinical intakes and assessments
• Experience treating substance use disorders
• Experience treating mental health conditions
• Experience working with co-occurring SUD and mental health diagnoses
• Strong individual counseling and rapport-building skills
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills

Compensation

Compensation is based on licensure, clinical experience, and previous outpatient behavioral health experience.

Higher compensation may be considered for independently licensed clinicians and candidates with significant experience working with SUD, mental health, PHP, IOP, or other outpatient behavioral health populations.
