Licensed Clinical Therapist

Job Summary: The Licensed Clinical Therapist is responsible for assessing clients, designing individualized treatment plans, and conducting therapy sessions to identified clients (no billable expectations).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Complete Clinical Assessments and Treatment Plans in compliance with DBH contract.

• Thorough knowledge of DSM5-TR, diagnosing criteria and rule outs.

• Complete thorough review of referral packets with quick turnaround in assessing referrals for placement.

• Complete preadmission interviews within same week of receiving referrals

• Able to complete documentation within 24hrs of service completion.

• Participate in client monthly treatment team meetings for all clients.

• Complete Monthly Treatment team notes for clients

• Comply with Tarasoff process for warning an identifiable individual if a client communicates a threat of serious physical harm or death and has the apparent intent and ability to carry out the threat.

• Comply with all CCLD, DHCS requirements established by contractual and Medi-Cal requirements.

• Collaborate with Head of Service, Director of Student Operations, and Program Directors for client services and treatment.

• Provide day to day behavioral health services and recommendations for identified clients

• Coordinate discharges, transfers and referral process

• communication of treatment to the clients, their family or representatives, or other partnering agencies.

• Crisis response and deescalation strategies to support in completing risk assessments and/or coordinating Hospitalizations as needed.

• Complete at least 20 hours of in-service training annually.

• Complete ANSA’s for each client.

• Participate in weekly clinical calls.

• Light travel is expected.

• Other duties as assigned

Secondary Responsibilities

Secondary responsibilities include the following:

• Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client’s quality of life

• Provide open and regular communication with your peers and supervisors

• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned

• Employees are placed on 90-day probation period to train and evaluate upon hire or start date of position. Training must be attended and completed during this time.

• Experience in conducting group therapy and individual therapy.

• Providing psychoeducation to BHT’s and Program Directors in identifying clients’ symptom presentation and intervention strategies.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

The employee will normally work in the office or other Helping Hearts designated offsite locations in support of the organization. The employee will frequently interact with clients and staff to assist and support in coordination of services.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is frequently required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will engage in movements that involve lifting equipment used in patient care, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to infectious diseases and human waste products.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is an Exempt, full-time position. Hours of work are Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours a week with the possibility of emergency and crisis calls after hours.

Range of Pay

$105, 000.00 - $115,000.00 +

Travel

Travel may include going to various Helping Hearts offices and facilities.

Required Education and Experience

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Behavioral Science Field
• Valid California BBS license as a LCSW, LPCC, LMFT or Psychologist
• A minimum of three years of experience working with clients with mental illness
• A minimum of one year experience working with DBT, CBT or other evidence-based treatment
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, supervisors, and vendors
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Effective critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• CPR/First Aid Certified (Training provided)
• CPI Training (Training provided)
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must have excellent observation, good judgment, and good oral and written communication skills.
• Professional in attitude, demeanor and dress.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening unless otherwise prohibited by law.
• Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance
• Must be 21 years of age or Older
• Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVD for 36 Months
