About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Therapist to join our mental health and behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This role involves conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions across various modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, group therapy, and art or dance therapy. The Clinical Therapist will also ensure clinical documentation adheres to HIPAA and ethical standards while maintaining accurate medical records within EMR/EHR systems. Experience with telehealth therapy and working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and evidence-based practices.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy using modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.
- Deliver crisis intervention and crisis management services to clients experiencing acute mental health issues or trauma-related crises.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote patient care while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Document all clinical interactions accurately in medical records following medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, patient care coordination, and research initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with clinical research, treatment innovations, ICD coding updates, and best practices in behavioral health.
- Maintain compliance with clinical documentation standards and participate in quality assurance activities related to medical records and data collection.
- Support clients with co-occurring disorders through integrated treatment approaches including psychopharmacology collaboration when appropriate.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent state credentialing required.
- Proven experience in mental health counseling across diverse populations including children with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder; experience working with Geriatrics is a plus.
- Proficiency in evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, behavior management strategies, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnosis documentation; experience with EMR/EHR systems is essential.
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, CPT coding, and medical records management.
- Experience delivering telehealth therapy services effectively while maintaining patient confidentiality and engagement.
- Ability to conduct mental health assessments using diagnostic tools; experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.

Pay: $30.00 - $65.00 per hour
